Govt. Plans Rs. 2 k crore fund for pharma

The government is planning to set up a venture capital fund with a corpus of Rs. 2,000 crore aimed at strengthening research and development capabilities in Pharmaceuticalsector.

Commerce, industry and textiles minister Mr. Anand Sharma, who chaired the first meeting of the consultative committee on pharmaceutical exports on Tuesday, said a panel of secretaries would also be set up to devise a strategy for the growth of the Pharma industry and the concern. The progress would be reviewed after three months. “We are considering a proposal of venture capital fund of Rs. 2,000 crore for the drug industry. We are talking with exim bank for this”, Mr. Sharma told reporters.

He assured industry representatives that the government will take up the issue of non- tariff barriers being mounted by the US and the EU against Indian Pharma Industry in bilateral forums at appropriate levels. “The government is fully committed to support this vibrant sector,” said Mr. Sharma.

INDIA LAB EXPO presence in ACHEMA 2012

India Lab Expo has achieved their first ever participation in ACHEMA 2012. The aim of participation was to promote India Lab Expo among global buyers and users of scientific and laboratory instruments. Our experience as an exhibitor in ACHEMA 2012 was excellent. This was the part of intensive research about the European scientific market and up to some extend we are successful to do the same.

We generally depend on overseas sales agents who can help us to boost our international presence but our organization has participated in many international exhibitions directly to understand actual facts and figures about the particular region. We have been participated many exhibition world wide like Arab Lab in Dubai, Lab Asia in Malaysia, Lab Indonesia in Jakarta, CISILE in Beijing and now ACHEMA in Frankfurt.

We have met many senior level people from different organizations in ACHEMA to invite them in 4^th India Lab Expo which is going to be happened on 2^nd to 4^th November 2012 at Hitex Exhibition Center, Hyderabad India. We have got very positive feed back from them and even many companies had already planned to visit the exhibition in the month of November 2012 in India. Few companies those had visited earlier exhibitions were very impressed with the efforts and presentation of the exhibition. They have also started business with many prior exhibitors.

For an organizer, the prospect of widening a show’s exhibitor profile and visitor profile can be a delicate process involving intensive research and personal discussion. Overseas exhibition is one firm which aims to help organizers boost their international presence and our participation in different International exhibitions is the part of strategy.

We set out a business plan to outline the what, how and when for the key players we’ll meet and exhibition like ACHEMA help us to do the same at one place. Many small and medium enterprises which wanted to establish themselves in India have shows their great interest in participation and visit our exhibition in India.

We have also meet with different International organizers of laboratory exhibitions like Lab Korea, Turkish Lab, Thai Lab, Lab Asia etc. We understand to each other and our requirements in very positive manner. We all have decided to support each other exhibition in their respective countries. It will help to generate exhibitors and visitors leads for every show. This is a new initiative to bring more international buyers and manufactures in the show.

We set out a business plan to outline the what, how and when for the key players we’ll meet. We’ll propose and invite the big players in one platform like ACHEMA.

We do not have offices abroad but looking to expand sales and advertisement in new territories, the best solution is usually to appoint a local agent. However we know that Success is not guaranteed. There are many agents in developing territories – but choosing the right one is key. They may bring knowledge of the local market and customs but not every agent is suitable ambassador for our show. They are not specialists in our sector and do not have the necessary connections with key stakeholders in their territory. This is another important aspect to participate in ACHEMA and other International shows and find out the right agency and know more about local territory.
